About O.K. Star!

Last year, the OK City Star Contest brought together talented singers from all over the state of Oklahoma. When the last note rang out, the winner was Danielle Flesher of Duncan.

This year’s contest will feature the largest prize package ever awarded for a contest of this type in the state of Oklahoma. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to be a part of this year’s OK City Star!

OK City Star 2008 Schedule

a. Open Auditions (Thursday, May 15)

• To be held in Crossroads Mall Community Room located at the northwest corner of the lower level.
• Audition time will be assigned when registration is received. Walkups auditions will be scheduled
  on a first-come, first-served basis for all remaining spots.
• Contestants will perform approximately 16 measures of the song of their choice. This audition is strictly a cappella (without accompaniment).
• Performers moving on to callbacks will receive notification immediately and audition time will be
  assigned for the following day.

b. Callback Auditions (Friday, May 16)

• Performers will sing approximately 1 minute of the song of their choice. A CD player will be provided for those who choose to supply an accompaniment track. A cappella performances also acceptable.
• Notification for those moving on to semi-finals will be posted within 30 minutes of the final performance. Email notification will also be sent to all performers within 24 hours.

c. Semi-Finals (Saturday, June 7)

• Contestants will sing one song. CD player will be provided for those wishing to supply an accompaniment track. A cappella is also acceptable. The maximum length is 3:30. All performers will be gently faded out at the 3:30 mark if still performing.
• All semi-finalists will receive a 2008 OK City Star T-shirt upon check-in
• Judges will determine the 10 finalists.
• Announcement of finalists will take place as soon as tabulations are complete.
• Tickets for finals will be available at this time

d. Finals (Saturday, June 14)

• Contestants will sing one song. A CD player will be provided for those who choose to supply an
  accompaniment track. A cappella performances also acceptable.
• Lyrics for finals must be submitted via email no later than Wednesday, June 11)
• The score from semi-finals will determine 50% of the score for finals with the remaining 50%
  to be determined by the live audience.
• All prizes will be awarded as soon as tabulations are complete.
